Happy Halloween!!!

New This Week: Aurelia has really gotten into the Baby in Mommy's tummy and every day we've been talking about how she's going to help Mommy and how she's going to show the Baby how to do things and all the things she's going to share with her...its so cute to hear her talk about her sister!

Baby #2 is now 20-21 inches or so and weighs about 6-7 pounds; she looks very much like a newborn and is now considered full term. Baby's now the size of a watermelon!Even though it feels like I ate a pumpkin!! Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long...the ultrasound definately shows that Baby will have a head full!!

Monday's appointment showed that Baby #2's head is now at a +1 and Mommy is dialated to a 4 now, so Dr has advised us to stay close to home and not do any traveling...very bummed about this, as it is Miss Kaylee Claire's big "Meet Me" shower this week, down in Harmony. The Dr's appointment went waaaay longer than normal, but Aurelia did a good job while waiting... It doesn't hurt that Dr Marcus is known to Ari as Dr Treat...she gets a treat from him every time!!
On Tuesday, we got Toys R Us's brochure and Miss Aurelia was very interested in seeing what she wanted for Christmas...she took it so seriously! lol!
Aurelia has gotten really interested in the Baby in Mommy's tummy and we've been talking alot about what she's going to teach the Baby and how she's going to help Mommy, she's even gone so far as to practice changing diapers with Monkey, Baby Ruth, Baby, and any other toy she has laying around!!!
This weekend was Halloween! For weeks, Aurelia has been talking about how she's going to be Abby Dabby for Halloween and today she finally gets to be her!! We got her in her Abby dress and then put makeup on her. It was so funny when she looked in the mirror...I guess she didn't like how Daddy did her makeup, because she just frowned at it!
We decided to get ready early and hit the mall and have fun listening to Radio Disney live and do some trick-or-treat'n at all the stores. I don't think she was very happy with her make-up job...this was the face we got when she saw herself in the mirror!
Here she is, very excited to get going!!
I don't think she believed me when I told her where we were going; she had to check out the map too...
Doing her fake smile...
Getting the hang of the whole candy thing!!!

VERY excited about dancing with Radio Disney...

Easily distracted with her sucker...
After her nap, we got dressed up again and hit the neighbors that we know...

She was very happy with her Daddy and the treats that she got!!
Of course we had to check out the goods!

Not sure if she had more fun getting treats or handing them out at the door...everyone that came to the door, she wished them a "Happy Ween"! Hope everyone else had a happy and safe Halloween!!!

36 Weeks!

New This Week: Aurelia has gotten interested in Mommy's belly. She got a Dr set from Auntie Sassy and Trevor over the weekend and she's been having fun "listening" to Mommy's belly. She had the stethescope up to the belly and Baby #2 kicked, Ari looked up and said, "did you see that?" She was soooo excited! So now its a game to get the baby to move with her little stethescope!
The other new thing that Aurelia has started saying is that she's "busy". Clear as day, she says, "sorry, Mommy, busy"...ugh! Where does she get this stuff!!?? lol!

Baby #2 is gaining about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. She's shedding most of the downy hair that covered her body, as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath.

At Monday's appointment, baby is measured at 6lb's and her head is now at a 0, Mommy's @ 3 cm and is 80% effaced. The Dr kept saying "if" I see you next week, guess he thinks this is the week!
The weather is still beautiful out and Ari enjoyed being outside after our appointment...

Tuesday marks our 36th week with Baby #2 and we're so excited the closer it gets to due date!!! Here's Aurelia, trying to figure out the remote (probably doesn't help that we took the batteries out!! haha) And making her goofy face!

We are amazed at technology these days and how much these youngens know about it...we take a picture and she immediately wants to see it on the screen; I can remember waiting months for when (and IF) pictures got developed to see them when we were younger! And now when I take out my laptop, Aurelia automatically says, "skype? Wuelo? Texas? DD? TioTio? Kaylee?" She wants to Skype! Wow, what our they learn! Here she is having a bit of a fit when I told her we weren't going to Skype and that I had some work to do...
Luckily she's a good girl and is easily distracted!! haha!

On Thursday, we were anxiously waiting for DD and Baby Kaylee to come over, as well as Grandma Bena! We had a girls sleep over and had so much fun!!! I can't wait to see how these little girls grow up together...we're so looking forward to it!!
Friday, we were supposed to have a shopping day with all the girls, but since Mommy can't be on her feet that much, we had a nice day at home! Grandma Bena stayed with Baby Kaylee and Ari, while Daddy and Mommy tackled a big project...THE LAUNDRY ROOM!!! It was a project that was much needed to be done and it felt so good to go through it, even though Mommy was a bit frustrated having to sit the whole time and not be able to get in there and get things done herself!! But it got done and we were all happy!
Saturday we decided to get up and enjoy one of the last weekends at the Farmer's Market...it was great! We did finally pick out our pumpkin and decided to carve them on Sunday...Aurelia was VERY excited about carving pumpkins...not sure if she knew what she was getting into...

After she realized the gooey mess it made, she decided she just wanted to pretend to "carve" her own pumpkin!

Looking forward to Halloween 2010!!!

Apple Orchard!!!!

New This Week: Aurelia has mastered the art of summersaults!! Well, she does a great roll, anyway!! It's just funny to see her try to get situated finally to do her roll... Also, this goofball has begun making a fake smiley face when taking pictures! The other thing that Ari has mastered is going down the stairs...or should I say flying down the stairs...she sits at the top, turns around on her belly and slides all the way down and thinks its funny when she almost runs over Frida!!
Baby #2 doesn't have much room to maneuver now that she's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew). Her kidneys are fully developed now, and her liver can process some waste products. Most of her basic physical development is now complete – she'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight. She'll put on a pound or more of baby fat before birth. (She's about 15 percent right now and will be about 30 percent by full-term.) Her hearing is totally developed.

We had our weekly visit on Monday to OGI and Baby #2 is now at 2 cm, 70% effaced, and baby's head is at a -2. Dr doesn't think we'll make it to 40 weeks, but we'll see! Here's Aurelia before our appointment, waiting patiently to leave...

Tuesday was a very busy day for Miss Aurelia! She helped Mommy with the laundry...she loves to get all the socks and dryer sheets out of Mommy's basket and put them in her basket, so that "Frida doesn't get it!" or so she tells me! ...and Daddy with answering the phones! What a great little helper!!
We have begun getting all of Aurelia's old baby stuff out and ready and Ari's been having so much fun with it!

She even found a new place to watch tv...
Tonight was also the last night that Mommy is able to work in the Emergency Room...the Dr has placed me on moderate bedrest...so we'll see what this brings...

Aurelia has started making this very fake smile and its kinda painful to see, but funny at the same time...she just squints her eyes and does this funny grin...goofball...
Friday was a great day...Aurelia and I had a great morning; playing...here she is about to show me how fast she can go down the stairs... I got a great prenatal massage in the afternoon...it was absolutely perfect!!!
On Friday evening, Auntie Sassy and Trevor, and Brennan and Ashley came over for a relaxing dinner...it was so great to see them and catch up!! Plus Aurelia just loves playing with them!

On Saturday, we met Tio Tio, DD, Baby Kaylee, and her Pa and KK were in town visiting from Fort Worth. We decided to show them a true Minnesota Fall Day by going to the Apple Orchard. It was perfect Autumn Day and we had so much fun!! Our plan was to have all the apple product possible and pick out a pumpkin, instead we had a couple of apple brats (YUMMMMY), some cider, and of course a caramel apple! We decided to wait on the pumpkin picking, but we took the opportunity for some great photo ops!

We even took out her Abby Dabby aka Abby Cadabby costume out and took some pictures in the grapevines...

The Vikings won on Sunday and Ari and her Daddy celebrated by eating some frosting that Mommy had made for the pumpkin bars!!!
The perfect ending to a perfect week!

October...

New This Week: Aurelia has started to grow up...she now can take her pants down when she has to go potty and has shown interest in washing herself with her washcloth in the bathtub! Both need some Mommy/Daddy help, but she does make a good attempt!! Ari has also started saying, "look Mommy/Daddy" when she wants us to see something or if she's being goofy...its kinda cute!
Baby #2 now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18inches long. Her fat layers are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well. Baby #2 can recognize and react to simple songs. In fact, I'm pretty sure she loves hearing Aurelia...she gives a kick when Ari gets excited!! Then again, she kicks when Frida barks...

We started our Monday with our weekly visit to OGI. Here's Aurelia, waiting to leave... Baby #2 was very active in our appointment; scoring her 10 out of 10 points and was showing us how she can suck on her hands and stick out her tongue!! Ari remembered Dr Marcus and his treats...she got very excited when she saw him and after about 5 minutes said, "treat please". We were a little embarrassed, but Dr Marcus just kept praising us for how smart she is and that we are doing a great job with her!! He got her a treat and even played a little game with her, so all was good.
We got into the Halloween mood on Tuesday and tried to figure out what Frida was going to be...we had fun, but for some reason, I don't think Frida saw the humor in it...

Wednesday was a very busy day for Miss Aurelia; as she filled in for her Daddy at work...

Wednesday evening, Daddy and Ari went to Tia Bria and Uncle Charlie's house for dinner and visit with Grandma Bena and Grandpa Steve before their trip...looks like she had fun trying on one of their wedding gifts; thier Hammel jersey!

Aurelia decided to lounge in her new "denim" diaper on Thursday!
I think she really liked her new "denim" because she was VERY good about telling me when she had to go potty and kept it dry and clean for most of the day! I don't think she wanted to ruin her new diapers!
Mommy worked on Thursday evening, and was sent home early by the ER nurses...too many contractions for their comfort level!! After talking to the doctor, they took me off the schedule for the weekend and will re-evaluate me on Monday morning...
Aurelia must have known it was Friday when she woke up, because she was in such great mood!! Ari's usually pretty well-natured, but she was down right goofy all day!! I don't think the sunshine hurt!!

We decided to continue to enjoy the beautiful weather on Saturday by going to the Minneapolis Farmer's Market...Aurelia loves riding in her little pack behind her Daddy and this time she took her little Baby Ruth! It's amazing how good her little memory is; she definately remembered that she loved the fresh squeezed lemonade!!
We had a great low-key weekend with our little family!
